Comparison of Counter-policies of France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Great Britain

Abstract:

Základním cílem této práce je komparativní analýza protiteroristikých politik Velké Británie, Francie, Španělska, Německa a Itálie. Všechny tyto státy mají již několik desetiletí dlouhou zkušenost s terorismem, ale tváří v tvář novému typu globálního, radikálně islámského terorismu musely ve svých protiteroristických politikách provést změny. Implulsem k těmto změnám byly události z New Yourku v roce 2001, Madridu v roce 2004 a Londýně 2005. Časově je tedy práce vymezena na období po 11. září 2001. Dalším cílem práce je posléze posouzení kompatibility protiteroristických politik těchto států s protiteroristickou politikou Evropské unie. Práce je rozdělena do tí hlavních částí. V první je teoretické vymezení základních pojmů používaných v práci, především terorismu. Druhá část obsahuje synchronní analýzu protiteroristických politik a nástrojů, které jsou v boji proti terorismu využívány. Závěrečná třetí část shrnuje poznatky získáné v části druhé.

Abstract:

The basic aim of the thesis is a comparison of counter-terrorism policies of Great Britain, France, Spain, Germany and Italy. All these five countries already have a long time experiences with fight against terrorism but face to face to a new type of global and radical islamic terrorism were all forced to implement new measures in their counter-terrorist policies. Main reason for these changes were tragic events in New Yourk in 2001, in Madrid in 2004, and in London in 2005. The time frame of thesis is after September 11, 2001. Other aim of thesis is also examination if counter-terrorism policies of these five countries are compatible with Counter-terrorism policy of European union. Thesis is divided into three main parts. In first part are defined main definition of terms used in thesis, especially terrorism. Second part contains comparative analyses of main instruments used in fight against terorism. Last third part summarises findings learnt in second part.
