Ešte donedávna bola väčšina softvérových aplikácií navrhnutých pomocou monolitickej architektúry. Keďže pri monolitoch sa vyskytujú problémy s rastúcim počtom používateľov a požiadaviek, preferovaným riešením sa stali mikroslužby. Mikroslužby sa dajú ľahko škálovať a vyvíjať nezávisle.
