Euroskepticism and life satisfaction of EU citizens

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zjistit, zda existuje závislost negativního postoje vůči EU na životní spokojenosti občanů členských států. Negativní postoj je v této práci vnímán jako nízká důvěra v instituce EU. Dále je sledována důvěra v instituce EU a životní spokojenost v EU 15 a během migrační krize. Práce se zaměřuje na občany členských států EU a OECD. Bylo zjištěno, že závislost nízké důvěry v instituce EU na životní spokojenosti neexistuje. Dále bylo zaměřeno na celkovou sledovanou důvěru a životní spokojenost. Bylo zjištěno, že migrační krize neměla vliv na změnu vztahu těchto veličin. Naopak závislost důvěry v instituce EU ve členských státech EU-15 na životní spokojenost těchto se prokázala jako nejsilnější ze všech sledovaných závislostí.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to find out whether there is a dependence of a negative attitude towards the EU on the life satisfaction of citizens of the member states. A negative attitude in this work is perceived as low trust in the EU institutions. Confidence in EU institutions and life satisfaction in the EU 15 and during the migration crisis is also monitored. The work focuses on citizens of EU and OECD member states. It was found that the dependence of low trust in the EU institutions on life satisfaction does not exist. It was also focused on the overall monitored trust and life satisfaction. It was found that the migration crisis did not affect the change in the relationship between these variables. On the contrary, the dependence of trust in the EU institutions in the EU-15 Member States on the life satisfaction of these proved to be the strongest of all monitored dependencies.
