Significance of Awareness of Surroundings in a Performer in Site-Specific Art

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Význam cítění prostoru pro performera v site-specific zkoumá klíčové aspekty prostoru, na které performer reaguje v site-specific performancích. Zabývá se přitom nejen tím, jak jsou reakce performera propojené s jeho fyzickým pohybem a psychosomatikou, ale také tím, jaký má performerův prožitek či jeho interpretace prostoru vliv na prožitek diváků, kteří performanci sledují. Hlavním cílem práce je poukázat na význam performerovy schopnosti vnímat a interpretovat prostor, a vysvětlit principy promítání tvůrčího procesu performera do prožitku diváka. Součástí práce jsou i samotné rozhovory s performery, které přinášejí představu o křehkosti a individuálním vnímání a prožívání ne-divadelního prostoru.

Abstract:

The Significance of Spatial Awareness for Performers in Site-Specific Performance" explores key aspects of the space that performers respond to in site-specific performances. The thesis not only examines how the performer's responses are connected to their physical movement and psychosomatic experience, but also how the performer's experience or interpretation of the space affects the audience's experience of the performance. The main goal of the thesis is to emphasize the importance of the performer's ability to perceive and interpret space, and to explain the principles of projecting the performer's creative process onto the audience's experience. The thesis also includes interviews with performers, providing insight into the fragility and individual perception and experience of non-theatrical space.
