Difficulties and Achievements: Integration of ,Sudeten Germans' in Postwar Bavaria on the example of Neutraubling b. Regensburg

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with difficulties and achievements of German expellees from Czechoslovakia: Integration of "Sudeten Germans" in postwar Bavaria on the example of Neutraubling b. Regensburg. Main goal of the research is to answer the questions: How did the locals perceive the newcomers? What measures had been taken to integrate the expelled individuals? Which difficulties and achievements can be observed? The theoretical part discusses the development of the expulsion and searching for new homes in general. The town of Neutraubling acts here as an example, on the basis of which the history of this place during and after the World War II. is specified more in detail, but above all the is specified rebuilding and life of expelled Germans who settled here. The practical part presents findings of two witnesses from the time of expulsion and the early beginnings of the town of Neutrabling and connects these findings with historical events.

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce jsou problémy a úspěchy vysídlených Němců z Československa: Začleňování sudetských Němců do poválečného Bavorska na příkladu města Neutraubling u Řezna. Hlavním cílem zkoumání je zodpovězení otázek: Jak vnímali místní obyvatelé nově příchozí? Jaká opatření byla přijímána k integraci odsunutých jedinců? Jaké problémy a úspěchy při tom lze sledovat? Teoretická část se zabývá průběhem odsunu a hledáním nových domovů v obecné rovině. Město Neutraubling zde působí jako příklad, na jehož základě je blíže specifikována historie tohoto místa během a po skončení druhé světové války, ale především znovuvýstavba a život vysídlených Němců, kteří se zde usadili. Praktická část této práce uvádí poznatky dvou pamětníků z doby odsunu a raných počátků města Neutrablingu a vzájemně je spojuje s historickými událostmi.
