Předložená práce se zabývá knihou Siris (1744) irského filosofa George Berkeleyho. V této knize, která se dnes těší jen velmi malému zájmu badatelů, Berkeley kromě jiného obhajuje léčivé účinky dehtové vody a prezentuje svou filosofii v její pozdní podobě. Abstract:
This thesis deals with a book called Siris (1744) by Irish philosopher George Berkeley. Siris, which nowadays receives only a limited scholars’ attention, became famous for its proposal of tar-water’s healing effects and it also presents Berkeley’s philosophy in its late form.
