Public debt in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat veřejný dluh s akcentem na státní dluh České republiky a následně porovnat vývoj veřejného dluhu členských zemí Visegrádské čtyřky. V první části jsou vymezeny teoretické pojmy a popsány jednotlivé části veřejného dluhu. Druhá část je zaměřena na empirickou analýzu státního dluhu v České republice, na jeho strukturu a řízení rizik splácení státního dluhu. Třetí část se zabývá analýzou vývoje veřejného dluhu v České republice v porovnání s vybranými zeměmi EU, především s Maďarskem, Polskem a Slovenskem.

Abstract:

The purpose of this work is to analyse the public debt with the stress on the national debt in the Czech Republic and to compare the development of the public debts among the members of the Visegrad group. The first part contains theoretical terms and describes particular sections of the public debt. The second part of the work is focused on the empirical analyse of the national debt, on its structure and repayment risk management. The third part compares public debts development of the Czech Republic with the data of selected countries of European Union, primarily with Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. In conclusion, this work describes options that could reduce the national debt and reach a balanced state budget.
