Origin of Feminism, its Values in Women's Literature and its Transformation. Comparison of works of Mary Wollstonecraft's Vindication of the Rights of Woman and Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Declaration of Sentiments and Kate Chopin's and Margaret Atwood's Handmaid's Tale

Abstract:

By means of this work, the author attempts to explore changes which Feminism and its values have come through. Feminism in transition is depicted on the comparison of works of different eras. Work includes characteristics of early Feminism and Postmodern Feminism and comparison of works with applied characteristics of each era. Particular emphasis will be placed on the change in feminism from its original uniform goals to the breakdown of this unified narrative that may be seen in postmodernism.
