Digitalization of black and white negatives

Abstract:

Úvod práce porovnává možnosti uchovávání informace pomocí negativů a digitální reprezentace fotografie. Text práce také popisuje vyvolávání černobílého negativu, vznikající expozimetrické vady a jejich odstraňování. Práce seznamuje se skenery, s jejich parametry a s procesem digitalizace. Během práce byla také skenována část archivu Jiřího Jeníčka pro Moravskou galerii v Brně. Součástí bakalářské práce je maketa knihy, která vznikla za využití znalostí nabitých v průběhu práce. Dále během práce vznikla aplikace pro úpravu jasu a kontrastu černobílých snímků. Práce může sloužit jako návod nejen ke skenování černobílých negativů a seznámení se skenovací technikou.

Abstract:

The thesis compares the possibility of preserving information through negatives and digital representations of photographs.The text also describes developing black and white negatives, exponometric defects and their removal. The text also introduces the scanners, parameters of sanners and the process of digitization. The part of archive of Jiří Jeníček´s photography was scanned in Moravska Galerie in Brno. Part of the work is also dummy book which was created thanks our learned skills. Next part of the thesis is aplication for adjusting brightness and contrast. The work may serve as a guide to scan black and white negatives and introduce scanning technique.
