The phenomenon of folk singers in Ukraine, their creation and influence on the Czech environment

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce Fenomén lidových pěvců na Ukrajině, jejich tvorba a vliv na české prostředí je přiblížení problematiky lidových pěvců, kobzarů, českému čtenáři z hlediska historického a literárního. Práce se bude zabývat historií pěvců, vznikem jejich cechů a tradicemi s tím spojenými. Dále se zaměříme na jejich repertoár, podrobněji pak dumy, typické epické písně, jejich klasifikaci, formu, symboliku a tématiku. Dumy měly velký vliv na utváření moderní ukrajinské literatury a v 19. století také na českou kulturu, proto si jejich odraz v českém prostředí, zejména pak v literatuře a klasické hudbě, zmapujeme.

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis The phenomenon of folk singers in Ukraine, their creation and influence on the Czech environment is to approach the issue of folk singers, kobzars, Czech readers from a historical and literary perspective. This work will deal with history of singers, formation of their guilds and traditions associated with it. We focus on their repertoire too, especially dumy, the typical epic songs, their classification, form, symbolism and themes. Duma had a great influence on the formation of modern Ukrainian literature and on the Czech culture in the 19th century, therefore we will describe their reflection in the Czech environment, especially in literature and classical music.
