Tato práce čtenáře uvede do základních principů a pojmů bioinformatiky. Kapitoly 1-4 jsou věnovány bioinformatice jako takové, to znamená otázkám jak se pracuje s daty, jaké jsou formáty dat, kde najdeme informace o sekvencích na internetu a jak se posuzuje podobnost sekvencí. The main part of this bachelor thesis documents the philosophy and terms from bioinformatics. The first chapters (1-4) are dedicated to bioinformatics as a whole, i.e. to questions such as data processing, data formats, sequence information sources on the internet and how to qualify similarity of sequences.
