Současná strojírenská metalurgie umožňuje vytvářet požadované produkty velmi složitého tvaru včetně finální povrchové úpravy, které však nelze mnohdy zhotovit jiným způsobem, než odlitím komponentu do připravené formy. Current engineering metalurgy enables to create requested products with very complicated designs including final surface modifications, which cannot be made besides moulding a component into a prepared mould. The brass castings used in glass industry suffer from repeated defects of material mainly when hand-made.
