The Introduction of Mass Destruction Weapons into Armaments and their Influence on Population Protection

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku zbraní hromadného ničení a jejich vlivu na civilní obyvatelstvo. V teoretické části této diplomové práce je představena a popsána tzv. triáda zbraní hromadného ničení tedy, zbraně jaderné, chemické a biologické. Praktická část dále rozebírá možnou pravděpodobnost použití těchto zbraní teroristy v podmínkách České republiky a jsou zde taky uvedeny možné scénáře útoků a modelová situace, která zobrazuje důsledky použití jedné z nejvíce pravděpodobných zbraní na vybraný prvek kritické infrastruktury v České republice.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the issue of weapons of mass destruction and their effect on the civilian population. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the so-called Weapons of Mass Destruction triad, nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, is presented and described. The practical part goes on to discuss the possible likelihood of the use of these weapons by terrorists in the conditions of the Czech Republic, and there are also possible scenarios of attacks and a model situation that displays the consequences of using one of the most likely weapons on a selected element of critical infrastructure in the Czech Republic.
