Occupational Therapy Intervention in the Patient with Multiple Sclerosis Focused on Paretic Upper Limb

Abstract:

Abstrakt Úvod Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá ergoterapeutickou intervencí u pacientky s roztroušenou sklerózou. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, a to na přehled teoretických poznatků a na hlavní část. V přehledu teoretických poznatků jsou uvedeny informace o roztroušené skleróze, například charakteristika onemocnění, klinické příznaky, formy onemocnění, diagnostika, léčba a také rehabilitace, především možnosti ergoterapie. V hlavní části je popsán ergoterapeutický proces u pacientky se sekundárně progresivní formou roztroušené sklerózy. Cíl práce Cílem mé bakalářské práce je poukázat na možnosti ergoterapeutické intervence u pacienta s roztroušenou sklerózou, který má z důvodu svého onemocnění paretickou horní končetinu Metodika Pro zpracování práce bylo nutné nejprve analyzovat odbornou literaturu zabývající se problematikou roztroušené sklerózy. Následně byl vytipován vhodný pacient. Při vstupním a výstupním vyšetření byly použity různé metody hodnocení, například pozorování, měření goniometrem, rozhovor, orientační vyšetření, testování standardizovanými testy (FIM, Frenchyaský test paže, Jebsen-Taylor Test, Box and Block Test a Nine-Hole Peg Test). Mezi vstupním a výstupním vyšetření probíhaly terapie v domácím prostředí pacientky. Po výstupním hodnocení byl sestaven dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán. Výsledky Výsledky jsou zpracovány na základě vstupního a výstupního hodnocení. Některé cíle ergoterapie se podařilo splnit a některé nikoli. Závěr Díky této práci jsem si rozšířila znalosti o roztroušené skleróze, které mohu později uplatnit ve své praxi.

Abstract Introduction This bachelor thesis deals with occupational therapy intervention in the patient with multiple sclerosis. The thesis is divided into two parts, into the overview of theoretical knowledge and the main part. In the overview of theoretical knowledge are information about multiple sclerosis for example the characteristics of the disease, clinical symptoms, forms of disease, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation, especially the possibility of occupational therapy. In the main part is described the occupational therapy process in the patient with a secondary progressive form of multiple sclerosis. The aim of the thesis The aim of the thesis is to point out the possibility of occupational therapy in the patient with multiple sclerosis who has a paretic upper limb due to his disease Methodology First of all, it was necessary to analyze the professional bibliography dealing with the issue of multiple sclerosis for the preparation of the thesis. Subsequently, the suitable patient was selected. During the initial and final examination were used various methods evaluation, for example observation, goniometer measurement, interview, orientation examination, testing with standardized tests (FIM, Frenchya arm test, Jebsen-Taylor Test, Box and Block Test, and Nine-Hole Peg Test). Therapies took place in the patient's home environment between the initial and final examination. A long-term occupational therapy plan was drawn up after the final examination. Results The results are processed on the based initial and final evaluation. Some goals of occupational therapy have been fulfilled and some do not. Conclusion Thanks to this work, I have expanded my knowledge of multiple sclerosis which I can later apply in my practice.
