Prediction of number of patients in rheumatology

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on prediction of number of hospitalized patients in rheumatology. The most common type of rheumatology disease is Rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is not curable, only reducing or fully disapearing of the symptoms is possible. The treatment is very expensive, therefore the health insurance companies need to know the prediction of number of patients. For estimating the hospitalization burden it was used the extrapolation of trend using data from National Register of Hospitalised Patients (NRHOSP). There were applied different methods, which were compared with each other and pros and cons were evaluated. In the end the best method was selected, which was used for prediction of future numbers. It was showed, that the number of hospitalized patiens will be decreasing.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaobírá predikcí počtu hospitalizovaných pacientů nejčastěji se vyskytující choroby v revmatologii, a to revmatiodní artritidou. Revmatiodní artritida je nevyléčitelná nemoc, je možné dosáhnout jen zmírnění až vymizení jejich příznaků. Léčba je však nákladná a proto je pro poskytovatele zdravotní péče důležité znát budoucí počty. K odhadu hospitalizační zátěže se využila extrapolace trendu na data z Národního registru hospotalizovaných (NRHOSP). Byly aplikované různé metody, které se porovnaly mezi sebou a shodnitily se jejich kladné a záporné stránky. Nakonec se vybrala nejvhodnější metoda, která byla použitá se záměrem predikovat budoucí počty. Ukázalo se, že počet hospitaizací bude v budoucnu klesat.
