Práce se zabývá vlivem vysokých teplot na fertilizační procesy rostlin. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny základní fytohormony, zvýšená pozornost se věnuje auxinu, jeho syntéze a genům, které ho kóduji. Dále je popsána morfologie reprodukčních orgánů, vliv vysokých teplot na rostliny a jsou zde popsány klíčové principy molekulárně biologických metod, které byly v této práci použity.
