Insurtech and Artificial Intelligence in traditional insurance

Abstract:

Insurtech je ekosystém společností zaměřený na inovace (většinou startupy), které vytváří určitou hodnotu jak pro stávající pojišťovny, tak i pro klienty tím, že narušují a řeší problémy napříč hodnotovým řetězcem pojištění prostřednictvím zapojení nových technologií sledováním uživatelsky orientovaného přístupu. I přes to, že pojišťovnictví není jediným průmyslem, který zažívá obrovský nárůst inovací a modernizace, je to pravděpodobně ten, který jej potřebuje nejvíce z důvodů převládajícího konzervatismu a nedostatku pohyblivosti.Cílem bakalářské práce je shrnout a objasnit vliv Insurtechu a umělé inteligence na tradiční pojišťovnictví. Úvodní část pokrývá základní představení a typy Insurtechu, které definují jejich způsob použití. Pozornost je následně věnována rozboru umělé technologie a jejímu uplatnění v pojišťovacím sektoru. Tato práce umožní čtenáři lépe pochopit implementaci umělé technologie a moderních technologií pro zlepšení pojišťovacích procesů tradičních pojišťoven a důležitost klientsky zaměřeného přístupu, jelikož důvěra je v dnešní době novou měnou.

Abstract:

Insurtech is an ecosystem of innovation-oriented companies (mostly startups) that creates some value for both existing insurers and clients by disrupting and solving problems across the insurance value chain by engaging new technologies, artificial intelligence and pursuing a user-oriented approach. However, insurance is not the only industry which is experiencing compelling innovation and rennovation, it is probably the one, which needs it the most due to its prevailing conservatism and lack of agility.The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize and clarify the impact of Insurtech and artificial intelligence on tradional insurance incumbents. The introduction part covers basic findings and types of Insurtech, which formulate a reason of increasing popularity of modern technologies. The emphasis is placed on the analysis of artificial intelligence and its insurance application.This thesis will provide readers with a better understanding of implementing artificial intelligence and modern technologies for streamlining the insurance processes of traditional incumbents and why in the industry where trust is the new currency, a user-centric approach is so essential.
