Special educational support for the pupils with special needs in Czech Republic and Malta

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the main characteristics which form the special educational support system in Malta and in the Czech Republic. It is aimed at actual, inclusive tendencies in order to briefly compare the main resources of special educational support in both countries. The bachelor´s thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical section. The highlight in the theoretical part discusses the inclusive trends and legislative framework of special educational support in the countries. Because of expected increase of pupils with individual educational needs in mainstream schools, we have also compared the statistical information about the numbers of the pupils included in mainstream schools over the last five years. In the practical part of the thesis one can analyse the findings of the research carried out regarding the special educational support system through the eyes of diverse educators and parents of students with special educational needs in both countries. The aim of this work is to gain a brief overview of the possible differences between the two countries and the eventual inspiration for our professional working future.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca je zameraná na popis špeciálno pedagogickej podpory realizovanej v Českej republike a na Malte. Je smerovaná na aktuálne, inklúzivne tendencie s cieľom stručne porovnať hlavné prostriedky špeciálno pedagogickej podpory oboch krajín. Zozbierané informácie sú podložené predovšetkým legislatívou oboch krajín. Práca je rozdelená na teoretickú a praktickú časť. V teoretickej časti sme sa zamierame na prebiehajúce inkluzívne tendencie a legislatívny rámec špeciálno pedagogickej podpory oboch krajín. Porovnáme tiež štatistické údaje o počtoch žiakov so špeciálnymi vzdelávacími potrebami v súvislosti s očakávaným nárastom integrácie do bežného prúdu škôl za posledných päť rokov.Praktickú časť našej práce sme sa rozhodli zamerať na prieskum špeciálno pedagogickej podpory očami pedagógov a rodičov žiakov so špeciálnymi vzdelávacími potrebami v oboch krajinách. Cieľom práce je získať stručný prehľad o možných rozdieloch medzi krajinami a eventuálnu inšpiráciu pre našu špeciálno pedagogickú prax.
