The Motivation of Czech State Police Staff in Litoměřice

Abstract:

Již delší dobu zaznamenává Policie ČR trvalý nedostatek zaměstnanců, a proto věnuje zvýšenou pozornost nejen otázkám náboru nových uchazečů, ale i stabilizaci stávajících policistů. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit důvody, které vedly zaměstnance Policie České republiky v Litoměřicích k výběru zaměstnání a rovněž zjistit faktory, které přispívají ke stabilizaci zaměstnanců. K dosažení cíle byla použita primární data, která byla získána pomocí metody písemného dotazování na Územním odboru Policie ČR v Litoměřicích (n = 200). Dotazníkové šetření bylo zaměřeno na motivaci při výběru zaměstnání. V rámci této proměnné byly zjišťovány faktory, jako je plat, komunikace s nadřízenými, jistota zaměstnání, příležitost pomáhat lidem a prestiž. Dále se šetření zaměřilo na faktory, které vedou ke stabilizaci zaměstnanců. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že jsou policisté celkově spokojeni s prací a je pro ně významně důležitá výše platu, dobré vztahy na pracovišti a dobrá komunikace s nadřízeným. Nejvíce spokojeni jsou s náplní práce. Z hlediska benefitů je pro ně nejdůležitější nárok na výsluhu. Kruskal-Wallisovým testem a párovým Wilcoxonovým testem bylo zjištěno, že má značný vliv věková kategorie policistů. Ve výsledku měl věk vliv na důležitost položek při výběru zaměstnání a na důležitost faktorů z hlediska stabilizace. Pro samotný vstup k Policii ČR v Litoměřicích bylo rozhodujícím faktorem zajištění stálého příjmu peněz.

Abstract:

For a long time the Police of the Czech Republic notices persistent lack of the employees and so it pays increased attention to matters of the recruitment of the new applicants as well as to the stabilization of the current police officers. The objective of this bachelor thesis was to find causes that led the employees of the Police of the Czech Republic in Litoměřice to their choice of the occupation and also to analyse the factors that contribute to the stabilization of the employees. Primary data collected by written survey at the Territorial department of the Police of the Czech Republic in Litoměřice (n = 200) were used to achieve the objective. The survey was focused on the motivation behind the choice of the occupation. Several factors within this variable were considered, such as a salary, communication with the superiors, job security, opportunity to help people and prestige of the occupation. Furthermore, the surveywas focused on the factors leading to stabilization of the employees. Result of the thesis is finding which factors motivated the employees to the choice of their occupation and what leads them to stay employed at the Police of the Czech Republic in Litoměřice. Results of the thesis show that the police officers are satisfied with their occupation, and they consider their salary, good relationships at the workplace and good communication with their superiors to be significantly important. Their occupation brings them most satisfaction. From the point of benefits they consider their pension to be the most important. The Kruskal-Wallis test and Wilcoxon matched pairs test methods show that the age of the police officers play a significant role. The result shows that the age significantly influences importance of the items during the choice of the occupation as well as the importance of the factors from the point of stabilization. The result also shows that the most important factor for the application to the Police of the Czech Republic was the security of the stable income.
