Musical in the current repertoire of the National Theater of Moravia-Silesia and professional students of music education

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na téma Muzikál v repertoáru Národního divadla moravskoslezského v sezóně 2021/2022. Je složena z teoretické i praktické části. V každé části se nacházejí dva oddíly. Teoretická část je věnována muzikálu, jeho terminologii, typologii, reflexi divadelního druhu v současné České republice a kde se lze s muzikálem setkat. Dále se zabývá muzikálem konkrétně v Národním divadle moravskoslezském. Zde je uvedena historie a současnost muzikálu tohoto divadla a jeho propagace. V praktické části je analyzováno a charakterizováno sedm muzikálů Národního divadla moravskoslezského v sezóně 2021/2022, které jsou seřazeny dle data premiéry v repertoáru tohoto divadla. Nacházejí se zde obecná fakta o originální podobě muzikálu a jeho nastudování souborem opereta/muzikál v Národním divadle moravskoslezském. Dále se vyskytuje konfrontace teorie s praxí, tedy jak mnoho je v muzikálech obsažena terminologie a typologie tohoto divadelního druhu. Po rešerši komentářů, názorů a vzpomínek různých kritiků nebo samotných herců, kteří nastudovali hlavní role, režisérů nebo dalších spolupracovníků z inscenačního týmu, byly některé vybrány a uvedeny. Nachází se zde i mé hodnocení, které jsem zhotovila na základě zhlédnutí muzikálů. Následuje oddíl výzkumné části práce, zabývající se analýzou dat získaných z nestandardizovaného dotazníku, který byl použit v předvýzkumu a vlastním výzkumu. Na jeho vyplnění se podíleli oboroví studenti Katedry hudební výchovy Pedagogické fakulty Ostravské univerzity. Záměrem bylo zjistit popularitu muzikálů u absolventů hudební výchovy, jejich četnost návštěv divadla a pedagogický pohled na prospěšnost muzikálu v rámci jejich budoucí výuky hudební výchovy na základní nebo střední škole.

Abstract:

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to research musical performances in the National Theatre of the Moravian-Silesian in the season of 2021/2022. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part, each of which includes two chapters. The first chapter of the theory is focused on musicals and relevant academic references, definitions and the typology of musicals. There is also included a reflection of this theatre type in the current Czech republic and where it can be found. The second, major part deals with musical performances in the National Theatre of the Moravian-Silesian. There is introduced history and status quo of musical in the National Theatre of the Moravian-Silesian and how it is promoted. In the practical part there is an analysis and characteristics of seven musicals in the National Theatre of the Moravian-Silesian in the 2021/2022 season, which are arranged according to the premiere date in the repertoire of this Theatre. There are general facts about the original form of the musical and its production of the ensemble operetta/musical at the National Theatre of the Moravian-Silesian. Furthermore, there is a confrontation of theory with practice, which is how far are terminology and typology characteristic contained in musicals practise. After analysing the comments, opinions and memories of the various critics or actors themselves who have studied the lead roles, directors or other collaborators from the staging team, some of them have been selected and featured. There is also my assessment, which I made based on seeing musicals. The following is a section of the research part of the thesis, dealing with the analysis of data obtained from a non-standardised questionnaire, which was used in pre-research and self-research. Students in the Department of Music Education of the Faculty of Education of the University of Ostrava participated in its fulfilment. The idea was to find out the popularity of musicals among music graduates, their frequency of theatre visits, and a pedagogical view of the musical's usefulness as part of their future teaching of music education in primary or secondary school.
