Selected Aspects of Non-native Language Communication in Professional Midwives in Brno

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vybrané aspekty komunikace v cizím jazyce u porodních asistentek v Brně. Sledovanými aspekty jsou jazykové vzdělání, potřeba komunikovat, bariéry v komunikaci a jak se s nimi porodní asistentky vyrovnávají. Mapuje výhody, které porodním asistentkám přináší znalost světového jazyka. Poukazuje také na omezující aspekty spojené s neznalostí a na vznikající problémy s jazykovou bariérou ve zdravotnictví.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on selected aspects of communication in a foreign language by midwives in Brno. The main aspects are language education, the need of communication, communication barriers and the ability of midwives to cope with them. It covers advantages of foreign language skills of midwives and also points out restrictive aspects associated with lack of knowledge and the emerging barrier language within the health care.
