Messianic Judaism in Israel

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá mesiánským judaismem. Hlavní zaměření této práce je současný mesiánský judaismus ve státě Izrael. První část práce je věnována historii této náboženské skupiny. Je zde také vysvětlení jeho kořenů. Následují kapitoly o hlavních svátcích, zvycích a tradicích mesiánských židů. Tyto kapitoly jasně ukazují rozdíl mezi ortodoxními židy a mesiánskými židy. Tato část je především teoretická. Informace v této části byly převzaty z různých knih a internetových stránek. V druhé části práce jsou tři rozhovory s představiteli současných mesiánských komunit v Izraeli. Rozhovory byly provedeny mou osobou. Informace získané z rozhovorů byly využity v první části práce. Z výzkumu byly vyvozeny následující závěry. Mesiánští Židé se odkazují na židovské křesťany z prvního století jako na své předchůdce. Ačkoli oficiálně jejich historie začala v osmnáctém století. Počet členů této skupiny roste každým rokem zejména v Izraeli. Mesiánští Židé se považují za součást židovského náboženství. Mesiánské židovské komunity mají společné základní teologické otázky, ale liší se často liší v osobní praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with Messianic Judaism. Main focus of the work is on current Messianic Judaism in state of Israel. The first part of this thesis is about history of this religios group. There is also explanation of its roots. Afterwords there are chapters about main feasts, customs and traditions of Messianic Jews. These chapters clearly show the difference between Orthodox Jews and Messianic Jews. This part is mainly theoretical. Informations for this part were taken from various books and internet pages. In the second part of this thesis there are three interviews with leaders of current Messianic communities in Israel. Interviews were conducted by me personally. Information obtained from the interviews influences were used in first part of the theses. The following conclusions were drawn from the research. Messianic Jews are referring to first-century Jewish Christians as their predecessors. Although officially their history began in the eighteenth century. The number of members of this group is growing each year especially in Israel. Mesianic Jews are themselves considered to be part of the Jewish religion. Messianic Jewish communities have common basic theological questions, but they often differ in personal practice.
