Government bonds - their utilisation in CR

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o vlivu emisí vládních dluhopisů na ekonomiku. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř částí. První část se zaměřuje na teoretické i praktické aspekty trhu vládních dluhopisů. Součástí této části je i hodnocení některých aspektů časové struktury úrokových měr. Druhá část je věnována výzkumu role dluhopisů z pohledu jejich držitelů, vlády a centrální banky. Hlavním cílem této části je odhalení mechanizmu determinace úrokových sazeb centrální bankou. V třetí části je použito lineárního regresního modelu k odhalení vztahu mezi dlouhodobou úrokovou mírou a některými jejími určujícími činiteli. Je zde tak potvrzena hypotéza, že emise dluhopisů nezvyšují dlouhodobé úrokové sazby. Poslední část obsahuje některé predikce a perspektivy budoucnosti vládních dluhopisů s ohledem na světovou krizi a přístup k EMU.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the impact of government bond issues on the economy. The paper is divided into four parts. The first part concentrates on the both theoretical and practical aspects of the government bonds market. In this part are evaluated some aspects of the interest rates time structure theories too. The second part is dedicated to research of the role of bonds from the point of view of bondholders, government and central bank. The main goal of this part is to reveal a mechanism of the central bank interest rates determination. The the third part uses linear regress model to analyse relation between long-term interest rates and and some its determinants and confirms hypothesis that bond issues does not increase the long-term interest rate. The last part of this work contains some predictions and perspectives on the future of government bonds with regard to world crisis and to join the EMU.
