Use of CNG as an alternative fuel in the vehicle fleet of the selected company

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá provozně-technologickou analýzou potencionálního využití vozidel na stlačený zemní plyn (CNG) ve vybrané společnosti. Pro účely této práce byla vybrána Policie ČR v rámci Jihočeského kraje. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na historii plynných paliv v dopravě, základní informace o CNG a historii vozového parku Policie ČR. V aplikační části je řešena problematika pořízení nových vozidel vybavených CNG pohonem, ale i přestavba stávajících vozidel Policie ČR z hlediska technického, ekologického a ekonomického. Dále je zde řešena problematika plnicích stanic a spotřební daně. Cílem práce je zjištění, zda se Policii ČR investice do CNG pohonu všestranně vyplatí a jaké by mohly být výhody a nevýhody pohonu CNG ve vozovém parku Policie ČR v rámci Jihočeského kraje.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the operational-technologic analysis of potential use of vehicles equipped by CompressedNatural Gas (CNG) propulsion. For the purpose of this thesis, South Bohemian department of the Police of the Czech Republic was chosen as a company. Theoretical part of this thesis contains the history of petroleum fuels in transport, general information about CNG and a history of vehicle fleet of the Police of the Czech Republic. In the application part, problematics of acquisition of new vehicles equipped by CNG propulsion is being discussed. The rebuilding of current vehicles of the Police of the Czech Republic from the technical, ecological and economical point of view is being argued in this part of the thesis as well. In addition, the problematics of gas stations and excise tax is being discussed. The goal of this thesis is to determine, whether the investment of the Police of the Czech Republic into CNG propulsion vehicles would be generally worth it and what would be the advantages and disadvantages of vehicles equipped with CNG propulsion in the police car fleet.
