Audio-visual media in Spanish language teaching: A proposal of a didactic material dedicated to the culture that complements the textbook Aventura 2

Abstract:

This Master's Diploma Thesis deals with the problematics of audio-visual media as an educational tool and their application in Spanish language course with a special focus on the cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. The first part is dedicated to the theoretical frame of the area. Primarily, it presents the main benefits of audio-visual media in teaching, then it deals with the variety of video materials suitable for the teaching process. Afterwards it introduces possible techniques and methods of use of this material in class. Second part of the theoretical frame is oriented towards the problematic of culture and teaching of culture in foreign language courses, as well as towards the analysis of the textbook Aventura 2. The second part of the Thesis is focused on the methodology of the didactic material creation, based on the chosen audio-visual media, suitable to complement the present cultural component of the textbook Aventura 2, focused on the culture of Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. The final part of the thesis presents and evaluates available materials, including corresponding information and accompanying activities.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou využití audiovizuálních médií ve výuce a jejich aplikace v hodinách španělského jazyka pro výuku kulturních aspektů hispanofonních zemí Latinské Ameriky. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému vymezení dané oblasti. Začíná vysvětlením základních přínosů použití audiovizuálních médií ve výuce, dále představuje několik základních formátů audiovizuálních médií, které je možno použít jako didaktický materiál. Poté se zaměřuje na možné techniky a metody použití těchto médií ve výuce. Druhá část teoretické části je orientována na problematiku kultury a její výuky ve výuce cizích jazyků, taktéž je zde analyzována učebnice Aventura 2. Druhou část práce tvoří metodologie tvorby didaktického materiálu, vytvořeného na základě vybraných audiovizuálních médií, který má za cíl rozšířit dosavadní obsah učebnice Aventura 2, zaměřený na kulturu hispanofonních zemí. V závěru práce je představen a zhodnocen samotný materiál, včetně doprovodných informací a aktivit.
