Change in free surface energy of polyethylene over time after corona treatment

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje studiu změny volné povrchové energie polyethylenu v čase po úpravě koronou. V teoretické části této práce je popsáno povrchové napětí, volná povrchová energie, měření kontaktního úhlu, způsoby stanovení a vyhodnocení volné povrchové energie pevných materiálů a také typy povrchových úprav polymerních materiálů. V experimentální části této práce je prováděno vyhodnocení volné povrchové energie polyethylenu na základě naměřených hodnot kontaktních úhlů u čtyř kapalin, kontaktní úhel kapalin byl měřen metodou přisedlé kapky. Z naměřených hodnot byla určena volná povrchová energie metodou Owens, Wendt, Rabel a Kaelble (OWRK). Změna volné povrchové energie byla sledována v různých časových intervalech od koronování a při různých dávkách korony.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is focused on the study of the change in the surface free energy of polyethylene over time after corona treatment. The teoretical part of this thesis describes surface tension, free surface energy, measurement of the contact angle, methods of determining and evaluating the surface free energy of solid materials, as well as types of surface treatments of polymer materials. In the experimental part of this work, the free surface energy of polyethylene is evaluated based on the measured values of the contact angles of four liquids. The contact angle of liquids was measured by the sessile drop method. The free surface energy was determined from the measured values using the Owens, Wendt, Rabel and Kaelble (OWRK) method. The change in free surface energy was monitored at different time intervals from coronation and at different corona dosages.
