The prose of Viktor Pelevin

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is devoted to the prose of a present Russian writer Victor Pelevin. In the introduction there are clarified the reasons, which have led to the choice of the given topic and to the compilation of the thesis. The theoretical part, which follows, consists of two chapters. As long as Victor Pelevin belongs to the group of writers of the post-modern generation, the first chapter is devoted right to the characteristics of post-modernism as an art movement with a focus on its reflection in literature. The second chapter is focused on the personality of Victor Pelevin, his writings and his literary style. The practical part begins with the third chapter, which dwells on Pelevin's novel Omon Ra. It consists of a plot, characteristics of the major characters and an ideal and formal analysis. The forth chapter is of a similar structure and it is devoted to the novel Generation "P". The final part contains the summarised conclusions and opinions, which follow from the given thesis.

Táto diplomová práca je venovaná próze súčasného ruského spisovateľa Viktora Pelevina. V úvode sú objasnené príčiny, ktoré viedli k výberu danej témy a samotnému napísaniu práce. Nasleduje teoretická časť, ktorá pozostáva z dvoch kapitol. Nakoľko Viktor Pelevin patrí k autorom postmodernistickej generácie, prvá kapitola je venovaná práve charakteristike postmodernizmu ako umeleckého smeru s dôrazom na jeho prejavy v literatúre. Druhá kapitola je zameraná na osobnosť Viktora Pelevina, jeho tvorbu a štýl jeho písania. Praktická časť začína treťou kapitolou, ktorá sa podrobne venuje Pelevinovmu románu Omon Ra. V nej je uvedený obsah diela, charakteristiky hlavných postáv a ideový a formálny rozbor. Podobnú štruktúru má štvrtá kapitola, ktorá je venovaná románu Generácia "P". V poslednej časti sú zhrnuté závery a názory, ktoré z danej práce vyplývajú.
