Film Essays by Jan Špáta and Development of Czechoslovak Documentary Film between 1964 and 1979
Abstract:
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the documentary work of Jan Špáta between 1964 and 1979. The aim of this thesis is to analyze his work of the particular period. Subsequently, by analyzing selected films it presents the then methods of documentary perception in Czechoslovakia, namely the shift from a film-survey method to an essay film one and its use in Špáta´s documentaries.
Abstract:
Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá dokumentárnou tvorbou Jana Špáty v rokoch 1964-1979. Cieľom práce je analyzovať jeho tvorbu v konkrétnom období. Následne, pomocou vybraných filmov prezentovať vtedajšie metódy vnímania dokumentu v československom prostredí, a to konkrétne posun od metódy film-anketa k žánru filmovej eseje a jej následnej aplikácii v Špátových dokumentoch s rôznou tematikou.
