Abstract:

Jizera je audiovizuální instalace, reprezentující pěší pouť od pramene řeky Jizery až k jejímu ústí do řeky Labe. Toto dílo rozehrává tři tematické linie: autentickou přírodu kolem toku, post-industriální krajinu s výraznými zásahy človeka (výroba a továrny) a odkaz k lokální historii a folkloru. Uvedené linie jsou obsaženy jednak ve videu komponovaného z point cloudů na základě 3D skenů objektů proměnlivého prostředí kolem řeky Jizery, a rovněž jsou obsaženy v deseti, po cestě nalezených předmětech zalitých do transparentního resinu (epoxidové pryskyřice). Tyto odlitky jsou opatřeny světelnými zdroji, jejichž světelnost interaktivně reaguje na data o tepové frekvenci měřené během pouti v úsecích cesty, kde byly jednotlivé předměty nalezeny. Tvar odlitků je shodný s kameny vytaženými z řeky Jizery. Instalace zobrazuje autentické přírodní prostředí podél Jizery, které je projekcí rozšířeno do jeho digitálního odrazu, a zároveň vytváří kontrast přírodních materiálů (nerosty, voda, zemina a dřevo) s objekty syntetickými jako je syntetická pryskyřice a plexisklo. Instalace je doplněna o hudební doprovod Aitchera Clarka a všechny tyto prvky společně vytváří narativní příběh o průběhu pouti.

Abstract:

Jizera is an audiovisual installation representing a walking journey from the source of the Jizera River to its mouth at the Elbe River. This work unfolds three thematic lines: the authentic nature around the river, post-industrial landscape with significant human interventions (manufacturing and factories), and a reference to local history and folklore. These lines are embodied in a video composed of point clouds based on 3D scans of objects in the changing environment around the Jizera River. They are also represented in ten objects found along the way and encased in transparent resin (epoxy resin). These casts are equipped with light sources that interactively respond to data on the heart rate measured during the journey in sections of the path where the individual objects were found. The shape of the casts matches stones extracted from the Jizera River. The installation depicts the authentic natural environment along the Jizera, which is expanded into its digital reflection, creating a contrast between natural materials (minerals, water, soil, and wood) and synthetic objects like synthetic resin and plexiglass. The installation is accompanied by music by Aitcher Clark, and all these elements together create a narrative about the course of the journey.
