Tato diplomová práce se zabývá literárním žánrem "contemporary (neo-)slave narrative", který je také nazýván termínem "liberating narrative". Práce analyzuje dva romány současných afro-amerických autorek Sherley Anne Williams (Dessa Rose) a Toni Morrison (Beloved) za účelem osvětlit, jak tyto romány posouvají tento žánr a jak jejich autorky zobrazují otroctví. Abstract:
This thesis deals with the genre of contemporary (neo-)slave narratives, also called liberating narratives. It analyzes two novels by contemporary African American women writers - Dessa Rose by Sherley Anne Williams and Beloved by Toni Morrison - to establish what these works have brought to the genre and how they portray slavery.
