Abstract:

Práce je svým hlavním tématem zaměřena na oblast funkční gramotnosti a jejího zvyšování. Teoretická část práce má čtyři kapitoly. V první je vysvětlen koncept funkční gramotnosti, včetně mezinárodního výzkumu, který její úroveň měřil. Druhá část spojuje dva logicky související pojmy – funkční gramotnost a vzdělání. Na empirických datech objasňuje vztah a závislost těchto dvou pojmů. Ve třetí části následuje hledání možností, které mohou vést ke zvyšování úrovně funkční gramotnosti. Zájem se obrací jak na zahraniční programy, tak na možnosti v České republice. V této části pak vzniká zúžení pohledu na konkrétní možnost, kterou jsou u nás kurzy na dokončení základního vzdělání, na jejichž účastníky je následně zacílena výzkumná část. Čtvrtá kapitola stručně popisuje poslední, ale neméně důležitý aspekt spojení úrovně funkční gramotnosti jedince a jeho zaměstnatelnosti. Empirická část je pak na základě zjištění z teoretické části zaměřena na účastníky kurzu pro dokončení základního vzdělání. Metodami a postupy kvalitativního šetření zkoumá jejich pohled na dokončení základního vzdělání, na vzdělání celkově a na přínosy kurzu pro jejich další život. K účastníkům kurzu je připojen i náhled ze strany organizátorky kurzu a některá kvantitativní data z výročních zpráv zúčastněné školy.

Abstract:

The main subject of this thesis is focused on the area of functional literacy and its increment. The theoretical part consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, the concept of functional literacy is introduced and explained, to which the international survey is attached, that deals with measuring of the level of functional literacy. In the second part, two logical terms are related – functional literacy and education. The relation and dependency between these two terms is clarified based on the empiric data. Part three pursues searching and discovering various ways and methods that could lead to increment of level of functional literacy. Aside from the facilities distributed in Czech Republic, the attention is also concentrated on external and foreign programs and options. In this part, the point of view is also narrowed on concrete option – on course of accomplishing primary school education. On the participants of this course the practical research is aimed and creates the empiric part of this thesis. Chapter four briefly describes the last, but not less important aspect of connecting functional literacy of an individual and their occupational abilities. The empiric part, as mentioned before, works with the terms introduced in the theoretic part and is focused on participants of a course for accomplishing primary school education. Using methods of qualitative research, their attitude to finishing primary school education is investigated, as well as their opinion about the contribution of this course for their future life. The point of view of the tutor of this course is also attached together with some quantitative data from annual report of the school.
