Anotácia:

Tato práce se zabývá zejména posledním dnem provincie Sudetenland v Šumperku. Stručně popisuje události a okolnosti, které obsazení města předcházely, následuje popis obsazení města Šumperka československými vojenskými jednotkami. Šumperk byl obsazen bez boje 15.12. 1918. Dále popisuje události, které následovaly. Práce obsahuje vzpomínky účastníků tehdejších událostí, vojáků československé armády i tehdejšího starosty města, jednoho z hlavních představitelů Sudetenlandu. V závěru se autor pokouší vysvětlit příčiny německé kapitulace ve městě v roce 1918.

Abstract:

This dissertation deals especially with the last day of the Province Sudetenland in the town of Šumperk. It describes briefly the events and circumstances that occured prior to the occupation, then it depicts the occupation of the town of Šumperk by the troops of the Czechoslovak Army. Šumperk was overrun without any fighting on 15 December 1918. Next the dissertation gives an account of the events that folloved. The dissertation contains memories of those who took part in the events at that time, the soldiers of the Czechoslovak Army as well as the then mayor of the town who was one of the major representatives of the Sudetenland. In conclusion the author explains the reasons for German surrender in the town of Šumperk in 1918.
