Baťa Highway - analysis, interpretation, and presentation of technical elements of the construction as part of the cultural landscape

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze, interpretaci a prezentaci technických pozůstatků stavby Baťovy dálnice na Chřibech. Práce je zpracovávána v rámci modelového území na vybraném úseku trasy nedokončené dálnice. Cílem práce je zpracování literární rešerše dostupných podkladů a vypracování krajinné analýzy včetně terénního průzkumu pro řešené území. Součástí je také vypracování SWOT analýzy, které identifikuje silné a slabé stránky území, stejně tak jako příležitosti a hrozby. Práce se rovněž věnuje i rozboru historických fotografií, které jsou následně porovnány se současným stavem silničních pozůstatků. Výsledkem práce je vyhotovení komplexního katalogového přehledu, který se věnuje jednotlivým technickým fragmentům dálnice. Práce obsahuje rovněž i návrh naučné trasy, která se zaměřuje na zvýšení povědomí o historickém odkazu Baťovy dálnice na Chřibech.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of the technical remnants of the construction of the Baťa Highway in the Chřiby Hills. The thesis is processed within a model area on a selected section of the unfinished highway route. The aim of the thesis is to conduct a literary review of available data and to develop a landscape analysis, including terrain surveying, for the area under consideration. Also, there is included the development of a SWOT analysis, which identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the area, as well as opportunities and threats. The thesis also examines historical photographs, which are subsequently compared with the current state of road remnants. The outcome of the thesis is the creation of a comprehensive catalogue overview focusing on individual technical fragments of the highway. Furthermore, the thesis includes a design of an educational route aimed at increasing awareness of the historical legacy of the Baťa Highway in the Chřiby Hills.
