Abstract:
Xylém slouží rostlině k transportu vody a v ní rozpuštěných látek z kořenů do nadzemních částí. Na transport vody působí řada faktorů, které mohou narušit jeho plynulost. Z tohoto důvodu rostliny využívají různé mechanismy, aby předcházely narušení dodávek vody nebo je co nejrychleji obnovily. Xylem serves to transport water and solutes from roots to above ground parts of the plant. Several factors influence the transport of water and some of them may cause its incorrect function or complete failure.
