Electromyographic muscle activity during the performance of a school-appropriate push-up modification

Abstract:

Sportovní lezení je novodobě populární sport, který láká čím dál více sportovců. Proto je má diplomová práce věnovaná právě tomuto sportu. Pro lezení je klíčová síla horních končetin, proto jsou pro trénink nejčastěji využívány shyby v různých formách. Snažíme se odpovědět na otázku, zda je nějaká změna svalové aktivity při modifikacích shybů. Pro využití poznatků také mezi dětmi jsme volili lehčí variantu cviku s nohama na zemi. Byla měřena dominantní horní končetina při provádění shybu nadhmatem i podhmatem s úzkým nebo širokým postavením paží. Měření se zúčastnilo sedm lezců různé výkonnosti. Výsledky ukázaly, že ve všech typech úchopu nejvyšší aktivitu vykazují musculus brachioradialis a biceps brachii. Pořadí zapojení svalů je vždy od brachioradiali, dále biceps nebo triceps a jako poslední latisimus dorsi.

Abstract:

Sport climbing is a popular sport nowadays, which attracts more and more athletes. That is why my thesis is dedicated to this sport. For climbing, the strength of the upper limbs is key, so pull-ups in various forms are most often used for training. We are trying to answer the question of whether there is any change in muscle activity during movement modifications. In order to use the knowledge also among children, we chose a lighter version of the exercise with the feet on the ground. The dominant upper limb was measured in supinated and pronated grip with narrow or wide arm positione. Seven climbers of different abilities took part in the measurement. The results showed that the brachioradialis muscle and the biceps brachii showed the highest activity in all types of grip. The order of involvement of the muscles is always from the brachioradialis, then the biceps or triceps, and finally the latissimus dorsi.
