Moral Courage of General Nursing Students

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá postoji a názory studentů oboru Všeobecná sestra na morální odvahu a následně řeší, jak ji implikují do klinické praxe. Teoretická část je rozdělena na tři základní kapitoly. První kapitola se zabývá morálkou jako takovou a souvisejícími pojmy. Druhá kapitola řeší etická dilemata v ošetřovatelství, se kterými se studenti mohou setkat na odborných praxích. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na rozhodování studentů v eticky sporných situacích a na faktory, které je v těchto situacích ovlivňují. Pro praktickou část bakalářské práce byl použit kvantitativní výzkum. Technikou byl dotazník zaměřený na postoje studentů k morální odvaze a její využití v praxi. Dotazníkového šetření se zúčastnilo 69 studentů prezenční i kombinované formy studia Fakulty humanitních studií na UTB ve Zlíně. Výsledkem výzkumu jsou zkušenosti studentů s etickými dilematy a jejich odpovědi na to, jak se s těmito situacemi na odborných praxích denně vypořádávají.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the attitudes and opinions of students in the field of General Nurse on moral courage and then addresses how they imply it in clinical practice. The theoretical part is divided into three basic chapters. The first chapter deals with morality as such and related concepts. The second chapter addresses the ethical dilemmas in nursing that students may encounter in professional practice. The third chapter focuses on students' decision making in ethically controversial situations and the factors that affect them in these situations. Quantitative research was used for the practical part of the bachelor thesis. The technique was a questionnaire focused on students' attitudes to moral courage and it´s use in practice. Overall 69 full-time and part-time students of the Faculty of Humanities at TBU in Zlín took part in the questionnaire survey. The result of the research is the experience of students with ethical dilemmas and their answers to how they deal with these situations in professional practice on a daily basis.
