Thematic Atlas of Western Europe

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Tematický atlas západní Evropy se skládá ze dvou částí: teoretické a praktické. Praktická část (tematický atlas) je zaměřena na přírodní sféru západní Evropy. Mapy jednotlivých částí přírodní sféry jsou vždy doprovázeny textem, obrázky, grafy nebo tabulkami. Hlavním záměrem vzniku této bakalářské práce bylo vytvoření didaktické pomůcky pro výuku zeměpisu na základních nebo středních školách. Teoretická část popisuje kartografické zasady tvorby tematických map a průběh práce v programu ArcGIS 9.3.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis ‘Thematic atlas of Western Europe’ consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The practical part – the thematic atlas itself – focuses on the physical geography of Western Europe. Maps are accompanied with text, pictures, diagrams and tables. The main objective of this thesis is to provide a geography teaching aid for primary and secondary schools. The theoretical part describes cartographic principles of creating thematic maps and the workflow in ArcGIS 9.3 programme.
