Opportunities and barriers in cooperation between public libraries and primary school in the development of literacy

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Příležitosti a bariéry spolupráce veřejných knihoven a základních škol na rozvoji čtenářské gramotnosti“ seznamuje čtenáře s tématem spolupráce mezi školami a knihovnami a popisuje současný stav řešené problematiky. Práci tvoří dvě hlavní části. Teoretická část vysvětluje základní pojmy, které s rozvojem čtenářské gramotnosti souvisí, věnuje se historii výzkumů, socializačním účinkům četby a dětem jakožto čtenářům. Praktická část analyzuje a popisuje současnou situaci v oblasti spolupráce knihoven a základních škol na základě dat získaných z kvantitativního výzkumu. Celá práce je koncipována tak, aby pomohla knihovníkům a učitelům, kteří mají zájem o navázání nebo rozšíření spolupráce mezi institucemi.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis entitled "Opportunities and Barriers to Cooperation on the Development of Reading Literacy between Public Libraries and Primary Schools" introduces the reader to the topic of cooperation between schools and libraries and deals with the current state of this issue in greater detail. The thesis consists of two main parts. The theoretical part defines the key terms related to the development of reading literacy, the history of research and also the socializing effects of reading on children as readers. The practical part analyses and describes the present situation in the field of cooperation of libraries and primary schools on the basis of data acquired from quantitative research. The whole work is designed to help librarians and teachers who are interested in establishing or expanding collaboration between institutions.
