Perceived maeningfulness of life for widowed women of retirement age

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vnímanou životní smysluplností u ovdovělých žen v důchodovém věku. Práce se skládá z teoretické a výzkumné části. V teoretické části jsou představeny vybrané koncepce životní smysluplnosti, dále je charakterizováno vdovství. Výzkum byl realizován pomocí Existenciální škály, která se skládá z těchto škál: sebeodstup, sebepřesah, svoboda, zodpovědnost, personalita a existencialita. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jaká je vnímaná životní smysluplnost u ovdovělých žen v důchodovém věku, zda má věk vliv na vnímanou životní smysluplnost u ovdovělých žen v důchodovém věku a srovnat vnímanou životní smysluplnost ovdovělých žen s normami pro danou věkovou kategorii prostřednictvím srovnání získaných výsledků EKS škály s normami pro českou populaci. Ve výzkumné části jsou analyzovány výsledky výzkumu, kterého se zúčastnilo 80 vdov ve věku 58-83 let. Výsledky výzkumu přinesly informace o vnímané životní smysluplnosti vdov a zjištění, že existuje rozdíl ve vnímané životní smysluplnosti zkoumaných vdov/zkoumaných respondentek a normami existenciální škály.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with perceived life meaningfulness of widowed women in pensionable age. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the research part. Selected conceptions of life meaningfulness are introduced in the theoretical part, also the term widowhood is characterized there. The research was realized by the existential scale (ESK) which consists of these scales: self-distance, self-overlap, freedom, responsibility, personality and existentiality. The aim of the research was to discover how is life meaningfulness of widows in pensionable age perceived, if the age influences it and to compare the perceived meaningfulness of widows with norms of the age category via comparing gained results from EKS with norms of the Czech population. In the research part there are analysed the results of the survey between 80 widows, aged from 58 to 83. The results brought the information about perceived life meaningfulness of widows and it shows that there is a difference between perceived life meaningfulness of researched widows and the norms of the ESK.
