The BA thesis deals with problems in translating life and customs in Harum Scarum: the adventures of Puss and Pup by Josef Čapek. The theoretical part tells about translation in general and more specifically about translation fiction and especially fairy tales. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou překladu reálií v díle Josefa Čapka ?Povídání o pejskovi a kočičce?, neboli srovnáním překladu s originálem. V teoretické části se pojednává všeobecně o překladu z hlediska definice pojmu ?překlad? a charakteristice překladu literárních textů, s ohledem na specifika překladu pohádek.
