The work of litterature and the problem of human existence (based upon works of Charles Bukowski and Jean Paul Sartre)

Abstract:

Předmětem zkoumání této práce jsou literární díla Jeana Paula Sartra a Charlese Bukowského, v nichž je naše pozornost zaměřena na prvky existencialismu. Existenciální krize, téma nepřekonatelných propastí mezi subjektem a druhými lidmi, vědomí konečnosti lidského života a její nevyhnutelnosti, problematika sebevraždy jako způsobu řešení, absurdita života samotného - to vše je možné nalézt jak v románech Jeana Paula Sartra, tak i Charlese Bukowského. Tato studie ukazuje, že v mnoha ohledech jsou si přístupy obou autorů více než podobné. Práce neopomíjí zmínit přístupy rozdílné.

Abstract:

Subject matter of this work is the literary works of Jean Paul Sartre and Charles Bukowski, in which the focus is on elements of existentialism. Existential crisis, the theme of insuperable chasm between a subject and other people, problems of suicide as a method of solution, the absurdity of life itself ? all can be found in the novels of Jean Paul Sartre, as well as Charles Bukowski. This study shows that in several aspects the approach of the two authors is more than alike. The study does not omit the different approaches.
