Design of a toy using augmented reality

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá vymezením dětské hračky na principu rozšíře-né reality a jejím samotným vývojem. v teoretické části se práce věnuje pře-devším analýze současné produkce na trhu v tomto segmentu, typickým prvkům, které jsou u těchto produktů využívány a kritickému zhodnocení konkrétních aplikací rozšířené reality, jejich funkčnosti a odůvodněnosti po-užití. Následující část práce je věnována analýze a srovnání různých techno-logií používaných ke zobrazení rozšířené reality, a to především z hlediska poměru imerze/ovladatelnost/cena. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na návrh a vývoj finálního produktu ve dvou rovinách. První rovinou je designérská práce, tedy návrh, tvorba vir-tuálního modelu a 3D dat, výroba a testování fyzického prototypu hračky formou iterativního procesu. Druhou rovinou je softwarové řešení produktu ve formě návrhu a programování doprovodné aplikace, včetně jejího vydání na zvolené platformě.

Abstract:

The scope of dissertation thesis is to define a children's toys based on the augmented reality and then its development itself. In the theoretical part, the work mainly focuses on the analysis of production on the market in this segment, the typical elements that are used in these products and the critical evaluation of specific applications of augmented reality, their functionality and justification of use. The following part of the work is devoted to the analysis and comparison of various technologies used to display augmented reality, primarily in the scope of the immersion/controllability/price ratio. The practical part of the work is focused on the design and development of the final product on two levels. The first scope is the design work, i.e. the design, modeling, production and testing of physical parts of toy as an itera-tive process. The second level is the software solution of the product in the form of design and programming of the accompanying application, including its release on the chosen platform.
