Abstract:
This thesis analyzes a late medieval woman mystic Margery Kempe in the context of her status as a divine mirror and its attributes: imitation, reflection, and liminality. The Book of Margery Kempe presents a unique devotional expression of lay medieval piety and the influence that the affective tradition had on the community.
