Space is an illusion

Abstract:

This thesis tries to create an effect that virtually removes physical walls, therefore, creates space that is parallel with the real world. By means of optical illusions created by animated black-white rain, I try to disrupt spectators´ imagination of typical image of space around us. I push the borders of plausibility and experiment with stop-time illusion. I depict an infinite perception of visual moment, a process, which is natural and common for all beings. It has never started, it will never end. I sealed off the process that is the fundamental for the universe into a room, where audience will be shown a faithful presentation.

Abstract:

V práci sa snažím o výsledný dojem odbúrania fyzických stien, o vytvorenie priestoru, ktorý je paralelný s našim skutočným. Pomocou optických ilúzii vytvorených animáciou grafického čiernobieleho dažďa sa snažím nabúrať divákovu predstavu o klasickom poňatí priestorov. Posúvam hranicu uveriteľnosti a experimentujem s ilúziou zastavenia času. Znázorňujem nekonečný prebiehajúci okamih, proces, ktorý je vlastnosťou pre všetko živé. Nikdy nezačal a nikdy ani neskončí, do uzavretej miestnosti som uväznila dej, ktorý je podstatou všetkého a snažím sa o čo najvernejšie podanie divákovi.
