Election geography of the Czech Republic: Election into parliamentary house of Czech Republic in year 2013.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza volebních výsledků do PS PČR v roce 2013 a jejich porovnání s výsledky voleb v roce 2010. Z hlediska struktury je práce členěna do 5 částí. Úvodní, teoretická, metodologická, analytická a závěrečná část. V úvodní části je detailněji popsán obsah práce a její cíl. Teoretická část charakterizuje volební systém České republiky a volební geografii jakožto vědní obor. Metodologická část přiblíží rozdělení volebních okresů, Pearsonův korelační koeficient, variační koeficient a tvorbu volebních map. V analytické části jsou zhodnoceny volební výsledky politických stran, které překonaly 5% volební klauzuli. V závěrečné části jsou shrnuty výsledky politických stran, proměna volební mapy od voleb do PS PČR v roce 2010 a po volbách v roce 2013. Důraz je také kladen na změny ve stabilitě volební podpory tradičních stran v souvislosti s příchodem stran nových.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of electoral results to the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2013 and their comparison with those in 2010. Concerning the structure of this thesis, it is divided into 5 parts: Introduction, Theory, Methodology, Analysis and Conclusion. The Introduction presents the content of the thesis and its main aim. The Theoretical part describes the electoral system of the Czech Republic and Electoral Geography as a scientific discipline. Electoral areas, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Variation Coefficient and the process of making electoral maps are covered in Methodology. Results of political parties which passed 5% electoral clause are presented in the Analytical part of this thesis. The Conclusion sums up electoral results of Czech political parties and changes in electoral maps in years 2010 and 2013. Emphasis is also put on changes in electoral support of traditional political parties in connection with political new comers.
