Development of Digital Historical Model of Brno City

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá digitalizací fyzického 3D modelu Brna a okolí z 1. poloviny 19. století ve spolupráci s neziskovou společností Archaia Brno. V rešeršní části práce je řešen 3D prostor v kartografii zejména z hlediska 3D geovizualizace, 3D modelů měst (současných i historických) a vybraných technik pro tvorbu 3D modelu se zaměřením na metodu Structure from Motion (SfM). Tato metoda byla inspirací pro sběr dat a tvorbu digitalizovaného modelu Brna. Aplikační část práce obsahuje kromě popisu sběru dat a tvorby modelu i popis následných úprav geometrie modelu, jeho doplnění o tematické informace a následné zveřejnění na webu. V práci je obsaženo také ověření přesnosti modelu a jeho porovnání s ostatními 3D modely Brna.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with digitization of scale model of Brno and its surroundings from 1st half of 19th century in cooperation with non-profit organisation Archaia Brno. There is described 3D space in cartography in theoretical part of this thesis, mainly from view of 3D geovisualization, 3D city models (recent and historical) and choosen techniques of 3D model creation with focusing to the Structure from Motion (SfM) method. This method was inspiration for data collection and model creation. Aplication part contains not only data collection and model creation but also description of geometry adjustment, thematic information addition and publishing on web.
