The Electric Energy Accumulation Usage and its Electricity Market Effects

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce pojednává o akumulaci elektrické energie se zaměřením na bateriové úložné systémy. Práce je rozdělena do pěti hlavních částí. První obsahuje základní důležité informace týkající se akumulace elektrické energie pomocí nejpoužívanějších technologií, které jsou na konci kapitoly porovnány dle odpovídajících parametrů. Druhá část se již zaměřuje na bateriová úložiště. Zde jsou popsány možnosti jejich využití podle tří hlavních úrovní nasazení (úložiště s výrobnou, úložiště v přenosové a distribuční soustavě a domácí úložné systémy) a přínosy, které poskytují nebo mohou poskytnout pro stabilitu elektrizační soustavy a kvalitu elektrické energie. V této části jsou také uvedeny důvody současného intenzivního vývoje bateriových systémů a stanoveny hlavní legislativní překážky, bránící jejich uvádění do provozu. Je zde také prohloubeno zaměření konkrétněji na Lithium-iontové baterie díky jejich provozním parametrům a ekonomickému zhodnocení, protože právě z těchto důvodů se dnes tento druh baterie těší nejintenzivnějšímu výzkumu. Ve třetí části je zhodnocena simulace zkoumající vliv bateriových systémů na trh s elektřinou, konkrétně na cenu za MWh. Čtvrtá část shrnuje množství vystavěných bateriových úložišť ve světě s ohledem na ostatní technologie pro akumulaci a dále je ve stejné kapitole prezentována interaktivní celosvětová databáze, vytvořená v programu PowerBI. V druhé části kapitoly je provedena rešerše zahraničního legislativního přístupu k začlenění bateriových systémů do běžného provozu elektrizační soustavy. Poslední část je věnována právě legislativnímu ukotvení bateriových úložišť nejprve pomocí zhodnocení aktuálního stavu české legislativy a na závěr je pomocí zjištěných poznatků z české a zahraniční legislativy navrhnut legislativní rámec pro ČR.

Abstract:

The presented diploma thesis deals with the accumulation of electrical energy with a focus on battery storage systems. The work is divided into five main parts. The first part contains basic important information regarding the accumulation of electricity using the most commonly used technologies, which are compared at the end of the chapter according to the corresponding parameters. The second part already focuses on battery storage and describes the possibilities of their use according to the three main levels of deployment (storage with generation, storage in the transmission and distribution network and home storage systems) and the benefits they provide or can provide for the stability of the electricity system and power quality. This section also sets out the reasons for the current intensive development of battery systems and identifies the main legislative obstacles to their commissioning. There is also a deepening focus more specifically on Lithium-ion batteries due to their operating parameters and economic value because it is for these reasons that this type of battery today enjoys the most intensive research. The third part evaluates the simulation examining the impact of battery systems on the electricity market, specifically on the price of electricity per MWh. The fourth part summarizes the amount of commissioned battery storages in the world with respect to other technologies for accumulation and the same chapter presents an interactive worldwide database created in the PowerBI program. In the second part of the chapter, a search of the foreign legislative approach to the integration of battery systems into the normal operation of the electricity system is performed. The last part is devoted to the legislative anchoring of battery storages, first by evaluating the current state of Czech legislation and finally, using the findings of Czech and foreign legislation, a legislative framework for the Czech Republic is proposed.
