Creator and Spectator among Texts: Theatre and Intertextuality

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá teoriemi intertextuality a jejich využitím v přemýšlení o divadle. Jejím cílem je tyto teorie představit, vztáhnout k divadlu a dále sledovat různé typy intertextuality a odkazů, s nimiž pracují divadelní tvůrci. Je rozdělena na tři kapitoly, první z nich je teoretická a vykládá pojem intertextuality a vybrané teorie. Problematiku, kterou se zabývají, zároveň aplikuje na divadlo. Následně se zabývá vztahem divadla a literárního textu. Druhou část práce tvoří analýza inscenace Tajemství, šílenství, podivnost, láska (Ženy Boženy Němcové) Jakuba Čermáka z Horáckého divadla v Jihlavě. V této analýze jsou využity některé z vyložených pojmů a práce se zaměřuje na intertextuální vztahy, které jsou v inscenaci přítomné, na způsob, jakým se inscenace vztahuje k textům, ze kterých vychází, a k osobě Boženy Němcové. Dále identifikuje různé odkazy, s nimiž tvůrci v inscenaci pracují. Třetí kapitola představuje další směry, kterými je možné intertextualitu v divadle zkoumat. Práce tak předkládá perspektivu, která formuluje, do jakých různých vztahů jsou inscenace vevázány a navrhuje možnosti dalšího zkoumání intertextuality v divadle.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with theories of intertextuality and their use in thinking about theatre. Its aim is to present these theories, apply them to theatre and to trace different types of intertextuality and references that theatre creators work with. It is divided into three chapters, the first is theoretical and it explicates the concept of intertextuality and selected theories. The problems they address are also applied to theatre. It then examines the relationship between theatre and literature. The second part is an analysis of Jakub Čermák’s production Tajemství, šílenství, podivnost, láska (Ženy Boženy Němcové) from Horácké theatre in Jihlava. Previously introduced terms are used in the analysis and the thesis focuses on intertextual relations which are present in the production and on the way in which the production is related to the texts i tis based on and to the person of Božena Němcová. Furthermore, it identifies various kinds of references with which the creators work with in the production. Third chapter shows other directions in which intertextuality in theatre can be explored. Thus, the thesis presents a perspective that articulated the various kinds of relations in which the theatre productions are bound and suggests possibilities for further research of intertextuality in theatre.
