The comic in novels of Boris Vian

Abstract:

The theme of this bachelor thesis is the comic in four principal novels by Boris Vian L’Écume des jours, L’Automne à Pékin, L’Arrache coeur and L’Herbe rouge. The comic is one of important aspects of Vian’s works and it is defined differently for its originality. The aim of this thesis is to determine essence of Vian’s comic by analysis of methods which the author uses to create it. The thesis also focuses on types of the comic which occur in his novels and to establish its typology. The analysis is based on the work of Henri Bergson Le Rire which deals with formation of the comic and on categorisation of the comic of Vladimír Borecký who distinguish naivety, irony, humour and absurd.

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je komično ve čtyřech hlavních románech Borise Viana L’Écume des jours, L’Automne à Pékin, L’Arrache coeur a L’Herbe rouge. Komično je jedním z důležitých aspektů Vianova díla a pro svou originalitu bývá často definováno různě. Cílem této práce je určení podstaty Vianova komična analýzou postupů, kterých autor používá pro jeho vytvoření. Práce se dále zaměřuje na druhy komična, které se ve Vianových románech vyskytují, a vytváří tak jeho typologii. Analýza se opírá o práci Henriho Bergsona Le Rire, která se zabývá vznikem a zdroji komična, a o kategorizaci komična Vladimíra Boreckého, který rozlišuje naivitu, ironii, humor a absurditu.
