Female Readers in Women´s Magazines

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na diskurz vybraných časopisů pro ženy, kterými jsou měsíčník Marianne a týdeník, se zvláštním zřetelem k tomu, jak se v diskurzu promítá ohled na předpokládané čtenářky. V teoretické části se věnuji obecně ženským časopisům, jejich koncepci, porovnání ženských a pánských časopisů, zobrazení muže a ženy v českých médiích, feministické lingvistice a na závěr nastiňuji pojem diskurz a kritická analýza diskurzu. V praktické části dochází k představení mediálním produktů, k přiblížení nástrojů, pomocí kterých se předpokládaná čtenářka promítá ve vybraných vzorcích a součástí praktické části je i aplikování poznatků na dvou vybraných článcích. Na základě analýz docházím k závěrům, že přestože oba časopisy tvoří jinou kategorii ženských periodik a každý z nich se orientuje na jiné publikum, jsou si velmi podobní a s nástroji působení na potenciální čtenářky zacházejí podobným, ba ve většině případů i stejným způsobem.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the discourse of selected women's magazines, which are monthly Marianne and weekly Vlasta, with particular attention to how discourse is reflected in the account of the anticipated readers. The theoretical part is devoted to women's magazines generally, the concept, comparing women's and men's magazines, viewing men and women in the Czech media, feminist linguistics, and at the end I outline the term discourse and critical discourse analysis. There is a presentation of media products,description of instruments,which help to reflect an anticipated reader in the chosen patterns, in the practical part. A part of this practical section is also an application of knowledge of two selected articles. Based on the analyzes, I have concluded that although both magazines are from different categories of women's periodicals, and each focuses on different readers, are very similar with the tools that work on similar treat potential readers, even in most cases the same way.
